The 4 Qs of Pesach 33

Greetings! Had a very nice Passover Seder last Sabbath.

Here’s a little meat left over from the Feast:

The four questions of the Passover – traditionally children ask them and the leader (or father) answers:

Why do we eat matzah? eat bitter herbs? dip them twice? eat reclining?

Rabbinical sources see these questions as indicative of the type of “son” asking them.

The Matzah Son is wise because he asks about a principle of Torah.
The Herbs Son is wicked because he asks as though he were not a part of Israel.
The Dipping Son is simple, for his question is only “What is this?”
The Reclining Son is underdeveloped and needs tender guidance. (His is the dumb question.)
Knowing each son’s characteristic is helpful in formulating meaningful answers in the context of Passover unity – each child, no matter the age, must be able to “discern the body” at least a little, assisted by the reply of the elder. This puts a great deal of responsibility on the grown-ups, no? If the talmid (student) is to grow into his niche in the body of believers, the elder dare never hasten through the haggadah (service) just to get to the dinner! The haste is to be in the eating, not in the memorial.
(Rabbi Leff recounts how every years his father would blaze through the Hebrew service to get to the food.)

While the tale of the four sons makes the context in which the ask clear, the recorders of the Good News are not so clear. They never come right out and say something like,

“Now Jesus was eating the Passover with his disciples; and lo! He casts a mountain of charoset onto his matzah.”

Did, according to the Evangelists, Yahshua actually eat the Passover in 33 AD. There is no bone mentioned. No easter egg. In fact, an oft-quoted passage in Luke has Yahshua saying that he has no intention of eating Passover for the next couple thousand years.

So for you who are anxious about such uncertainly, let us save ourselves from the folly of the second son: WE DO BELIEVE Yahshua did the Passover Seder! YES WE DO BELIEVE! WE DO! WE DO!

Still, an analytical study of the text reveals strong ambiguity.

One of the accounts, that of Yochanon (John), records four questions asked during what could be the set-apart time of Passover. Attend -

First son: Shimeon Kefa: “Master, why can’t I follow you now?”
Second: Toma: “Master, how can we know the way?”
Third: Philip: “Master, will you not reveal the Father to us?”
Fourth: Yahuda: “Master, how will you reveal yourself to us (and not to the world)?”

I don’t know if we can line these fellows up alongside the four sons of the rabbis’ tales, but you have to admit, there is something serendipitous (not quite coincidental) about (1) the questions being right there – AND (2) the fatherly, reasoned answers that the Beloved records from the mouth of his Master. Hey, these talmidim are already aware that something horrible is going to happen, and soon! What could this Teacher, who was about to be slaughtered, possibly say to his children that would lead them from their personal horror back to the discernment and unity of the body? Think!

There are still several days before the end of the Matzah Feast. Everyone is back to work or doing what they would normally do during non-qadosh time. Mostly, it seems, people are just worried about the future, mad at the government, or fearful of the end time. Such are reasons enough to get out the dusty book and look into Yahshua’s amazing answers to the questions of his troubled children – while it is yet the limbic time between holy days – and reconnect with the body in a more mystical fashion than that of the seder feast we enjoyed last week.

Until next time - Amein!

Hebraic New Year - Sanhedrin - Bar Kokhbah Letters - Jeremiah in Ireland

Hello, Netzari! Happy Hebraic New Year 6009!

This is Jackson Snyder with the Netzarim Virtual / Vero Yahad Hebraic Roots Group (NEvy.us). You are receiving this mail because, since you're my friend, I thought you might be interested. If I'm wrong (about 60% of the time), reply with "no" in the subject and you are gone!

(Next meeting April 3, 7PM and April 4, 2PM at Poinciana 441. Directions are at www.YAHpop.us.)

There are several curious questions left over from the NEtzarim Vero Yahad group meetings from month 1, days 1 & 2, 6009 (March 28 & 29). Some of our researched answers are quite unexpected to say the least. Let's get right to them:

STARTING WITH THE NEW JERUSALEM SANHEDRIN

Regarding this NEW (biblical) YEAR and whether the NEW SANHEDRIN was going to set the year from 5769 to 6009 where it belongs - (the New Testament refers to the Sanhedrin as "the Council," Mark 15:43 et al.) - I contacted my associate Rab. Baruch Lev in Jerusalem. Here are the questions I asked:

Jack Snyder: R. Lev, there is a lot of scuttlebut that the new Sanhedrin is considering adding back the years deleted by R. Akiba on account of Kokhbah’s temporary messiahship. I thought if anyone knew if there were truth about this, it would be you. (Thus it would bring us to the liturgical year 6009 last Shabbat, putting us into the Millennium, according to Apostolic sources.)

Baruch Lev: First of all, the Sanhedrin is not recognized by any as authoritative other than themselves. So it wouldn’t make much difference. No one would accept their ruling. But in any event it is extremely unlikely they would even consider fiddling with the calendar in that way. Fixing the calendar was the last decision made by the real Sanhedrin in 358.

(Note: what happened in 358 AD would be worth a Yahoo search.)

Baruch Lev: There is a principle that you can’t over turn a ruling of a previous court unless the current court is “greater in wisdom and in number,” and modesty prevents any modern court from claiming they are wiser than an earlier court.

Jack Snyder: So I’m still looking for the Siddur h’Doret, which supposedly is the decree of R. Akiba of the change of calendar in about 136 AD. Did you ever come across that or know where I could find it?

Baruch Lev:No idea, sorry. Not sure how they could claim to have something like that; the oldest extant siddur is that of Rav Amra Gaon, from the 9th century.

Jack Snyder: I also hear that Noachites may make Aliyah if they swear not to keep the Sabbath, not to utter the Name, and not to abstain from unclean foods. Any truth there?

Baruch Lev: Definitely an “urban legend.” The only people who can make aliyah are people who either have one Jewish grandparent (either side) or who had a recognized conversion to Judaism. The government could care less what kind of religious acts people who make aliyah do or don’t do. Gentiles can in theory immigrate to Israel, but it is rather difficult.

Jack Snyder: Finally, I learned that Lieberman(not Joe) is #2 in the (Israel) government now, and I had read in your journals that this man is dangerous. What’s the upshot?

Baruch Lev:Yes, Lieberman has been appointed Foreign Minister, roughly equivalent to Secretary of State. A real disaster in my opinion. The main is a racist and has greatly offended most of our neighbors. Not the sort of guy you want negotiating for you!

CAVE OF THE LETTERS | Bar Kokhba, Messiah

We had a short discussion about the letters of common citizens found along with Bar Kokhbah's military directives in caves near the Dead Sea. One of the greatest revelations from "The Cave of Letters" is the pack of documents belonging to woman named "Babatha." These letters give us an incredible look into the life of a woman from Bible times who owned property and fended for herself. The letters are worth our time, especially if we see biblical women as downtrodden chattel. Read the story of Babatha here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/scrolls/life.html

The so“Cave of Letters” was, as I mentioned, a stopping-over-place for Simeon bar Kokhba, the rebel leader of the last Jewish Revolt. Several of his directives were also found in this cave, and you can look them over here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/scrolls/about.html

WHEREABOUTS OF THE ARK OF THE COVENANT

The resting place of the Ark came up in conversation; and though there are many theories, the Scriptures tell us where it is; that is, if you regard ALL of the Scriptures. Here is the location of the Ark, found in the Canon of 70 that I mentioned in my last post. (This passage is in context with the deportation of the Judeans to Babylon.)

2 Maccabees 2:1. It is on record that the prophet Jeremiah ordered the deportees to take the fire, as we have described, 2. and how, having given them the Torah, the prophet warned the deportees never to forget Yahweh's precepts nor to let their thoughts be tempted by the sight of gold and silver statues or the finery adorning them. 3. Among other similar admonitions, he urged them not to let the Torah depart from their hearts. 4. The same document also describes how the prophet, warned by an oracle, gave orders for the tent and the ark to go with him, when he set out for the mountain that Moses had climbed to survey Elohim's heritage. 5. On his arrival, Jeremiah found a cave-dwelling, into which he put the tent, the ark, and the altar of incense, afterwards blocking up the entrance. 6. Some of his companions went back later to mark out the path but were unable to find it. 7. When Jeremiah learned this, he reproached them, ‘The place is to remain unknown,’ he said, ‘until Elohim gathers his people together again and shows them his mercy.’

Look closely at this passage! What mountain is the Maccabean historian talking about? If we find this so clearly outlined in Scripture, how can we still believe that the Ark is yet lost? I have been told by Steve Quayle (of the Q Files) that anyone can see the place of this cave on Google Earth, including the great fortifications surrounding it.

The wonderful prophecy is this: "The people of Elohim are gathering, and His mercy is to be in the revelation of the Ark." HIS MERCY IS TO BE THE REVELATION OF THE ARK!

JEREMIAH'S ESCAPE WITH THE ZERAH OF DAVID TO IRELAND

While we are on the subject of the Babylonian Captivity and Jeremiah, we were puzzled about Jeremiah's whereabouts after the Babylonian army had left Jerusalem. There seems to be some VERY STRONG circumstantial evidence pointing to Jeremiah's escape with the daughters of the king to Egypt, then off to a colony of Judeans in Ireland. If you haven't heard of this, don't dismiss it without some investigation. You may find some very compelling evidence that is very relevant in our own time. I have a little of the story for you here: www.jacksonsnyder.com/yah/page/jeremiah-in-ireland.htm and there is plenty more if you are interested in drama and mysteries.

FINALLY - KATA MATTYAH, ENOCH, BAR NABA, PASSOVER

Let me end my letter by offering you the full audio translation of Matthew for those hoping to learn enough Hebrew to understand biblical terms. Kata Mattyah is my new translation of Matthew from the earliest versions of the original languages. It is available in print at www.Apostolia.us or online at www.YAHpop.us, where you will also find the dramatic audio book with sound effects and characterizations for download.

New audio books from my translations of ~The Epistle of Barnabas~ and ~First Enoch~ are almost finished. This material is essential for gaining the mindset of the Apostles. Available NOW in both print and audio is the 2006 translation of the Authentic Preaching of Peter, which Ted Dornan and I translated (360 pages) and Ted has recorded. Yes the material is free, both audio and on-line print, and the manuscript is printed for you to get at cost at the site I named before.

Lastly, NEvy will have our Passover Seder April 11th in the evening. There are a couple seats available, so reply if you want to come or if you have questions about it. The Haggadah (the service order) is available also at www.Apostolia.us or write me and I'll send you a home Passover kit without charge.

Baruch haShem Yahweh, y'all! Until next week,
Jackson Snyder

The Two Yahwehs

         YHWH

The Briefest Introduction to this Subject

You Religious Folks Need to Know This

Where there are the three elohim, let them be divine.
Where there are the two or the one, I am with the One.
- Yahshua's Egyptian Sayings

Bible-News.com - The Latest in Major Biblical Archaeology Breakthroughs

Rare Manuscripts from Jackson Snyder

Gen 1:1.  Elohim (2) created the sky and the earth.

Elohim is, of course, a majestic plurality that refers to more than one deity but is understood also as a unity – the Almighty One.

Deuteronomy 6: 4: `Listen, Israel: Yahweh our Elohim Yahweh is one.” or “Elohim (plural) is united ('echad).”

Gen 2:7.  Yahweh Elohim (2) formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Elohim, the title, and Yahweh, the personal name are first teamed up here.  El and Yah are one, but Yahweh is still Elohim (plural).

Genesis 19:24. Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Yahweh out of heaven.

It is evident from this passage that there are two Yahwehs – one in the upper dimension and one in the lower, consisting of a plurality of beings in unity of purpose and action.

John 5:43.  I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

Yahshua, meaning “Yahweh saves,” came in his father’s name, Yahweh, which means “I exist” or “I AM.”  The name Yahweh is in the name Yahshua.  “Yahweh” is not found in the names “Yeshua” or  “Jesus.”

John 17:25, 26.  “O righteous Father, the world has not known thee, but I have known thee; and these know that thou hast sent me.  I made known to them thy name, and I will make it known, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them."

In his priestly prayer, Yahshua’s mission was to make his heavenly Father’s name known to his followers.  That name had been hidden from his cohort, but he came to restore it.

Matthew 5: 19, 20.  "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing; for whatever he does, that the Son does likewise.  For the Father loves the Son, and shows him all that he himself is doing; and greater works than these will he show him, that you may marvel.

The Father and Son are in one accord in everything they do.  Obviously, they are not the same being, but they are a father and son working a plan in unity and oneness.

Exodus 23:20,21.  "Behold, I send an angel (malak) before you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.  Give heed to him and hearken to his voice, do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression; for my name is in him.

The mission of the angel (messenger, malak) to the Israelites was to guard and lead.  Yahweh says that the Israelites dare not rebel, for his malak has power to forgive sins because the name Yahweh was in him.  We have shown that Yahweh’s name was in Yahshua, and that, by his own admittance, he came in his Father’s name.

Mark 2:6,7.  Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts,   "Why does this man speak thus? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but G-d (Elohim) alone?"

And here Yahshua is accused of forgiving sins, which he did freely.    In doing so, he fulfilled the words of the scribes, for he had been capable of forgiving sins at least back to the time of the Exodus.

John 1:18.  No one has ever seen Yahweh; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.

John 5:37.  And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness to me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen.

John 6: 46.  Not that any one has seen the Father except him who is from God; he has seen the Father

We understand that nobody has seen the heavenly Yahweh.  He is incapable of being seen, since he is spirit.   And the Beloved Disciple knew this because this is what he wrote.  But he also knew that many had seen Yahweh or, at least the angel (malak, messenger) of Yahweh.

Exodus 24: 9-11.  Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the El of Israel; And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld Elohim, and ate and drank.  12.  Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and wait there ...

Here Yahweh is seen and heard and eats and drinks.  Moses, Sarah and a host of prophets also see Yahweh.  Since there are two Yahwehs, then heavenly and the earthly, these seen / not seen dual persons demonstrate a perfect description of the two Yahwehs, the father and the son, bearing the same name.  Again, we refer to Matthew 5:19ff et al.  The person these people are seeing as Yahweh is the son, preexisting before his birth in Bethlehem, doing the work of his father.

Proverbs 30:4,5. (In the words of Agur son of Jakeh of Massa ) Who has ascended to heaven and descended? ... Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!

Jesus replies to the first question,

John 3: 13.  No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man.  (Yahshua is referring to himself as the Son of Man.)

   And to the second,

John 1:2,3.  He was in the beginning with the Elohim; all things came to be through him, and without him nothing could have come into existence.

As to the third,

John 5:39-47 You search the scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness to me; yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.  I know that you have not the love of Yahweh within you, for I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.  Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; it is Moses who accuses you, on whom you set your hope.  If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote of me.  But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"

Again, we find the Scripture that he was talking about replete with references to the Malak of Yahweh (Yahshua), who has ability to forgive sins and who has the name of Yahweh in him.

In summary, Elohim (plural) (G-d) is made up of Yahweh Elohim and his son and namesake, Yahshua ben Yahweh Elohim.  The cherubim, seraphim and malakim are also of the Elohim family (Genesis 6:2, Job 1:6, Hebrew).

Psalms 8: 3-5.  When I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars which thou hast established; what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou dost care for him?  Yet thou hast made him little less than God, and dost crown him with glory and honor.

The writer of Hebrews interprets this passage identifying Yahshua as this man:

Hebrews 2:6-8.  It has been testified somewhere, "What is man that thou art mindful of him, or the son of man, that thou carest for him?  Thou didst make him for a little while lower than the angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet."

Paul, speaking of his position with the Father makes it clear that Yahshua is subordinate:

Romans 8:29.  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

And the latter Paul seeing Yahshua as the first-born of all creation.  What this means exactly is up for debate, but the words themselves are quite clear.

Colossians 1:13-17.  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all (other) things created ... And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Finally, Yahshua and Yahweh, son and father, are identified together as the two Yahwehs by comparing myriads of Hebrew with Greek Scripures with the same subject, Yahweh’s return.  Here are just two, the Old Testament:

(Hebrew) Zechariah 14;3.  Then shall YAHWEH go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.  And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

And the New Testament:

(Greek) Revelation 19:11-16  And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of Yahweh. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND SOVEREIGN OF SOVEREIGNS.

We have but scratched the surface of the iceberg with this important teaching, but you may go from here.  I’m sure many passages have popped into your mind to show the truth of this message.

And that truth is that Yahweh and Yahshua are different persons, as I am different from my own father; and that Yahweh and Yahshua bore the same name, as my father and I did.  Yet Yahweh and Yahshua were and always have been in echad together – unity of purpose, mission and character.  And as the Father is working, Yahshua is also working in the mission of intercession on our behalf.

It also shows us that Yahshua (Jesus) not only existed before Bethlehem, but he was very active in the affairs of humankind.  Do a concordance search of “angel of the Lord” in you Bible and see how extensive has been Yahshua’s benevolent care for his people on Yahweh’s behalf.

Two popular doctrinal trends are proliferating today that this study addresses: the Trinity and the pre-existence of Yahshua.

As for the first, it is easy to unglue the Athanasian Creed (373), which states:

5. For there is one person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Spirit. 6. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is all one, the glory equal, the majesty coeternal. 7. Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit. 8. The Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated.

The Bible clearly teaches that the Son was the first born of creation.

As for the second, it grieves me to learn that so many of my cohorts in internetworking ministries have abandoned the belief that Yahshua existed before Bethlehem.  It is very, very obvious through the above passages alone, that Yahshua was the messenger of Yahweh, and his son.

Psalms 2:7,8 7.  I will declare the decree: Yahweh hath said unto me, Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee.  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

These words are reiterated in Luke, "You are my son, the beloved. This day I have begotten you" (alternate and perhaps older version, reiterated in Hebrews 1:5).

And finally, we have averted the subject of the Holy Spirit in this essay.  However, we’ll make mention of his (its) identity with just one more startling text in regard to the malak of Yahweh.  Read it in light of our present learnings:

Isaiah 11:1-5.  And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch (natzar) shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear (reverence) of Yahweh; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of Yahweh: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.  And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

“May Yahweh open your mind to this truth so that your lips may be in echad with his purposes.”  Amein.

Shalom Kol Yisrael,

Enjoy this forward from a fellow brother.  If you have a high speed connection please look at this or if you know someone who does ask them if you can watch this with them.  Abba is at work during this time of restoration!

Shalom Brother Tzefanyah,

Check out this video from the Jerusalem assembly which  was globally televised yesterday, May 11, 2008:

http://www.god.tv/thecall-god_ (http://www.god.tv/thecall-god)  .   Please

click on Session 2,  specifically.  Amazing proclamations were made by Lou Engels (a  non-Jewish believer) and Asher Intrater (a Messianic Jewish believer).

This same convention center-  which hosted this spiritually charged assembly and whose  atmosphere was permeated with faith-filled historic prayers  and

proclamations- was today (and will again be tomorrow) the meeting place  for no less than President Bush and the Kings of the earth as they attempt  to divide the Holy City of Jerusalem!  Was this coincidence?... I think  not!

Moreover, the proclamations made during yesterday's  Jerusalem assembly were, I believe, of extreme importance from a  'Two-House' prophetic perspective; even though the majority of  participants were probably unawares of this profoundly  prophetic aspect being developed.  Nevertheless, this great mystery which the Prophets of Truth wrote about- and that  which modern-day heralds, like Angus & Batya Wooten, have  long witnessed to- is now, I believe, beginning to arise and take  shape in the hearts of manifold numbers of Christians and Messianic Jews around  the world.

Thank you, Brother Tzefanyah, for developing  this 'Chazak' group-mailing list; and for your very encouraging  emails.  Keep up the good work.  Barchu et shem YHWH!

Chazak, Chazak V'nithazek!  (Be Strong, Be Strong  and let us strengthen one another!)

Sunday, May 11, 2008

Shalom Kol Yisrael,

This past Friday morning I saw a vision of a conductor leading a symphonic orchestra. The orchestra was playing the most amazing music! Abba then spoke to me and said, "Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:15."

Yirmeyahu 3:15 "I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding."

Our Conductor Y'shua, the Great Shepherd, is leading an orchestra. Within His orchestra are section leaders. These section leaders understand the musical score and look to the Conductor to lead them. They also realize that they are actually sheep themselves living a life of a sheep who is following the Great Shepherd. Through this example they are leading sheep in their sections. If they do not pay attention to the great Conductor, they will lose the rhythm and the intonation will be lost creating a discordant sound. The section leaders are the shepherds Abba is raising up in these last days who desire not to please themselves but the Master Conductor Y'shua - the Great Shepherd.

Our Great Conductor and Shepherd Plays a Flute

Zekaryah 10:3 “My wrath burns against the shepherds, and I lay a charge against the leaders. For YHWH of hosts shall visit His flock, the house of Yehudah, and make them like His splendid horse in battle. 4 “From him comes the corner-stone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler, together. 5 “And they shall be like mighty men, who trample down the mud of the streets in the battle. And they shall fight because YHWH is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame. 6 “And I shall make the house of Yehudah mighty, and save the house of Yoseph. And I shall bring them back, because I have compassion on them. And they shall be as though I had not pushed them aside. For I YHWH am their Elohim, and I answer them. 7 “And Ephrayim shall be as a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as if with wine. And their children shall see and rejoice, their heart exulting in YHWH 8 “I shall whistle for them and gather them, for I shall ransom them. And they shall increase as they once increased. 9 “Though I sow them among peoples, they shall remember Me in places far away. And they shall live, together with their children, and they shall return. 10 “And I shall bring them back from the land of Mitsrayim, and gather them from Ashshur, and bring them into the land of Gil'ad and Lebanon, until no more room is found for them. (emphasis added)

In ancient Yisrael the shepherd played the flute. This flute was used to call forth the sheep. The sound of the flute was called a "whistle". Our Great Shepherd is playing the shepherd's flute for Ephrayim. Its known that the call of the shepherd is very powerful. As sheep march forth toward the shepherd's flute, they become as mighty men. In this march to the shepherd's call, it has been known that any wolves in their midst will be trampled to death.

Yisrael is a shepherd nation. All the sons of Yisrael were shepherds. As we understand the role of the shepherd, we begin to understand our Great Shepherd Y'shua.

Y'shua as our Great Shepherd, is described beautifully in Tehillim 80: 1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Yisra’el, Who lead Yoseph like a flock; Who dwell between the kerubim, shine forth! 2 Before Ephrayim, Binyamin, and Menashsheh, Stir up Your might, And come and save us! 3 Cause us to turn back, O Elohim, And cause Your face to shine, That we might be saved! (emphasis added)

We are moving toward that crescendo called the Greater Exodus. The Exodus is a migration. A shepherd understands that he is to lead the flock in migration. If the flock is not moved, the flock will perish because of starvation. The nations are spiritually drying up. This is Abba's plan for the Great Shepherd is leading His flock to that great pasture land called Yisrael.
